Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Does Your Make Up Bag Work? part 1

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Do you want to look beautiful? You need to make up.However, does your make-up bag work?Let’s continue!

Having our makeup at our fingertips is a number one priority for most every woman, even if it’s just a tube of lipstick. We need to know that we can freshen our face anytime anywhere. So what makes up the ultimate makeup bag?

Today we can buy fashionable and trendy makeup bags ranging in size from compact to purse size.

That’s really great, that our makeup bag can be part of our fashion statement, but it’s what we put in it that really counts.

And why is it no matter what size the bag you have is, it seems to be too small or the makeup you most need at the moment doesn’t appear to have made it into the bag. It’s time solve that dilemma but putting together the perfect makeup bag!

The bag itself is really a matter of your personal taste. Find one that fits your personality and will fit into your purse. There’s no sense buying a huge makeup bag when you pack a tiny purse. Prices can range from a couple of dollars to a hundred dollars. Yes I said $100.00 - those designer names don’t come cheap.

As we build the perfect makeup kit, we’ll assume you are packing a small to medium makeup bag. For those that have a tinier bag you’ll have to choose which items to remove. For those packing a large bag, fill you boots or should I say make up bag with any extras you’d like to add.

Tomorrow I’ll give you some tips which could make you more attractive!

The History of Costume Jewelry part 2

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Welcome back to our topic.Today I’ll tell you more about the history of costume jewelry.
There are usually clues that can help one identify what era a piece of jewelry is from. Style, material, the type of piece. For example dress clips came in in the 1930s and were out of style by the 1950s. Jewelry reflects styles, designs, colors and stones of the era. For example from 1910 to 1930 silver was the favorite color for metal, so jewelry was found in platinum, white gold, silver or a base metal colored to look like silver. By World War II, gold was popular again but in short supply, since it was vital to the war effort. What gold was available was made into very thin sheets and usually bonded to silver (called vermeil) before being turned into jewelry. By the 1930s rhinestones popularity was ever increasing in Europe. It was not available to the Americans until the 1940s. As a result, many of the pieces from this period tend to feature lots of metal and a single stone or a small cluster of tiny rhinestones.
Today is certainly not much different from past times. We still have fine jewelry, semi precious jewelry, and of course costume jewelry available to us. Costume jewelry can add the finishing touch and show your fashion sense. Costume Jewelry styles of past years are now becoming very fashionable and many are being reproduced. Even with costume jewelry there is a difference in quality. Many of the new pieces do not have the vibrance in the stones or the weight of the older pieces.
Antique and vintage costume jewelry are both fun to collect and fun to wear. No longer is costume jewelry simply “collectable.” It is “in style, and” “fashionable,” and a terrific conversation starter. Dress to impress!

The History of Costume Jewelry part 1

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Today I’d like to continue to talk about fashion style. Our topic today is jewelry.I’d like to talk about the history of costume jewelry.
There is virtually no difference between costume jewelry and antique jewelry. Costume Jewelry dates back to the 1930s. By the definition of antique that would also make it antique jewelry. However, most jewelry experts have come to agree that antique jewelry predates the 1930s.
Costume Jewelry came into being in the 1930s as a cheap disposable jewelry meant to be worn with a specific outfit, but not meant to be handed down through generations. It was intended to be fashionable for a short period of time, out date itself, and then be repurchased to fit with a new outfit purchase, or with a new fashion style. It became available in large quantities during the 30s.
Cheap jewelry also existed prior to the 1930s. Paste or glass jewelry as far back as the 1700s. The rich had their fine jewelry duplicated for a variety of reasons, using paste or glass stones. By the mid 1800s with the growth of the middle class there were now different levels of jewelry being manufactured using fine, semi-precious and base materials. Fine jewelry of gold, diamonds, fine gems such as emeralds and saphires continued to be made. Jewelry from rolled gold, which is a thin layer of gold attached to a base metal, entered the market for the middle class. This jewelry was often set with semi-precious gems such as amethyst, coral or pearls, and was much more affordable. And then there was jewelry that most anyone could afford, consisting of glass stones and base metals made to look like gold. All three types were intended to be passed down to future generations.

DIY your lifestyle with Louis Vuitton.

Monday, June 8th, 2009

For the uninitiated, DIY stands for “Do it Yourself.” In fashion, it refers to people who take it upon themselves to modify or create their clothing to make it their own. No one has a more personal style than a fashion DIY-er.  It’s not easy to take a pair of scissors to a dress or write all over a pair of shoes if you haven’t done it before. I know. I used to think that the clothes were sacred! They were the way they were for a reason! This is clearly some mythic idea I concocted in my brain. It’s gone now. Payless has taken it upon themselves to make the first step easier by introducing the Louis Vuitton  shoe.

This all-white shoe is sold with a package of three markers in order to give you the little push you might need to start scribbling on and personalizing your shoes. Originally, the idea came from kids. Remember, in school how important is was that EVERYONE in your class signed your yearbook or your cast (if you managed to break an arm)? These let you collect signatures with the need for tragic accident or the end of the year. But they don’t stop there. In addition to running wild with the pens that come with the shoes, you can also expand on the idea by adding feathers, paint, rhinestones, studs, fabric, or anything else in your craft arsenal. The possibilities are endless. The discount Louis Vuitton shoes come in both adult ($22.99) and children’s ($17.99) sizes and are available online as well as in stores in the New York Metro area (which includes New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania).

Did I mention that 100% of the proceeds from these shoes go to The Fresh Air Fund? This wonderful nonprofit program raises money to allow inner city kids to experience summer camp and outdoor activities free of charge. It literally provides kids with “fresh air.” Those of you who live in places that have large quantities of nature may not understand just how important this program is. I live in the center of Manhattan. On a regular day, it’s entirely possible that I may not actually see a tree, or anything else that grows. Kids in the city have little access to nature and little opportunity to run and play. This is an essential part of childhood and I cannot express to you how vital it is for a healthy childhood. I believe the Louis Vuitton Fund is providing children and families with a tremendous service.

To give you all some idea of the possibilities of the Louis Vuitton  shoe, take a look at what our beloved Christian Siriano did with his pair:

That Christian has a way with feathers.

Another famous name, at least in the business of high-end athletic shoes and graphic design, also took a shot at the Friendship shoe. Jeff Staple has designed some of the most sought-after shoes in Nike’s history as well as limited runs for New Balance. He will be designing an entire collection of Airwalk shoes for Payless that will debut in Fall 2009.

So there you have it. The Friendship shoe gives you a chance to do some good, get some comfy kicks, and express your personality in one easy step.

Why I Fall In Love With Gucci?

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

The luxury and elegance of black and gold combination is once again proven in this Gucci Handbags. And though the combination is refined, seeing this hobo also tells a touch of toughness, which then completes its biker theme.

Made from black leather with green/red/green web and light gold hardware, this hobo bag is trimmed with gold tone grommets, which create both the bag’s luxe and the sturdy appeal. It has flap pockets on the front; plus a large and bold logo plaque centers this whole piece for added style and of course, branding. You can also see stitched detailing at the bottom part, which kind of adds to the bag’s rough yet elegant look.

This Gucci hobo bag opens through a top zip closure and it would show enough space to fill with your everyday essentials. It could be carried through its flat handle that is also accented with grommets and with ring attachments.’voyager’ medium hobo with single strap, zip-top closure, identification tag with signature web bow, embossed gucci crest trademark, expandable zip bottom, front zip pockets, and inside zip and mobile phone pockets. 40 x 7 x 36.5 cm.

It looks like this Gucci purses could be used not only for the day, but also for the night, especially when you are about to go on a clubbing as it would surely toughen up your party look with an added edge, and without of course, compromising elegance. With that, perhaps the tag price of $3,060 could already be enough though still, you can’t deny its expensiveness.

Your unique feeling with Louis Vuitton

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

It’s no secret that Louis Vuitton shoes want you to be as comfortable as you are fashionable. And so, we’re proud to announce our next contest, in which we give away a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes;

Why should you be excited about Louis Vuitton shoes? I’ll tell you why: these Louis Vuitton shoes employ a three-part comfort technology : the footbed and stabilizer on top, the chassis in the middle, and the polyurethane pods for cushioning at the bottom:

Louis Vuitton shoes assure us that “The molded and anatomically contoured footbed combines with a stabilizing baseto provide the ideal blend of stability and cushioning for long-wearing comfort, creating a shoe that forms to each individual’s foot.”

Of course, you don’t have to take their word for it; you could take mine, though! I’ve had the pleasure to try one of these Louis Vuitton shoes , and I found it to live every bit up to the expectations.

I’m on my feet quite a lot–walking my beloved pooch, running errands, getting groceries, you get the idea; hence, I rely on good, sturdy, comfortable Louis Vuitton shoes to carry me from one place to the other.

The Louis Vuitton shoes was a pleasure to wear, so much so that I wiped off the sole and continued to wear Louis Vuitton  shoes around the house.

Louis Vuitton shoes for every personality!

Friday, June 5th, 2009

We all love high heel Louis Vuitton shoes – few things feel more empowering, sexy, dramatic, and expressive than slipping on a pair of high heels for an event, dinner, or whatever.

So it may come as a shock to you to hear that more and more women are discovering, and rediscovering womens flat Louis Vuitton shoes as an option for daily wear. Designers have started stepping up to the plate when it comes to style and comfort, and we’re starting to notice as we peruse the fashion magazines to the gossip rags, and especially while shopping.

What has really pushed flat shoes back to the forefront? There was a time when it meant that we were starting to tire from, or –gasp – becoming too old to have heels on all the time. And perhaps some of us still feel that way. But look at what designers from Tory Burch to Marc Jacobs are coming up with, and it’ll be harder to deny that flat Louis Vuitton shoes are entering a renaissance. From ballet flats to loafers, they’re no longer a more comfortable alternative, but a fashionable alternative when high heels are just not practical to wear.

Louis Vuitton shoes for women
Louis Vuitton Flats Some of my favorite flat Louis Vuitton shoes for women are being designed by my favorite Louis Vuitton shoe designers overall – Steve Madden His bold, colorful designs captured my attention since the very beginning, and I think many of my formative, life changing adult experiences have happened when I was wearing a pair of his shoes. So it was no leap for me to try out some Louis Vuitton shoes, , which is my favorite for when I need to look good at the office, and be ready for an impromptu night out.

Louis Vuitton flats are just irresistible when you want to catch the eye of someone – whether it’s for admiration or envy. The understated shape of the ballet flat, combined with the snakeskin printed leather creates and eye-catching balance of flamboyance and classic design, while feeling incredibly comfortable to wear. You may not be getting on your toes in these (though you can if you want), but you’ll feel a cut above everyone nevertheless.

If you still don’t believe that flat Louis Vuitton shoes will do it for you, I urge you to try some on. You’ll find that they’re every bit as comfortable and easy to walk in, and you’ll be surprised by the many variations and styles being produced by your favorite Louis Vuitton shoes. There are plenty to choose online.

Gucci is the best choice for handbags

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Babouska‘ large shoulder bag with single strap, detachable shoulder strap, snap and push lock closure, heart-shaped Gucci handbags charms, fringe detail, studs, and inside zip and cell phone pockets in beige/ebony crystal GG with brown leather trim and brass hardware.

I don’t usually have a problem with fringe, but I can’t decide if this Gucci handbag has too much of it. Gucci is a brand I love. I have a pair fendi sunglass I wear all the time and I am definitely on the hunt for a Gucci handbag I can tote around all the time as well. But, I don’t think this bag is it.

The Gucci handbag  looks unique and perfect for the fall season. I think the stud accents and brass hardware compliment the fringe extremely well. In fact, as I sit here typing, the Gucci handbag is starting to grow on me more and more. There is a double strap option (one detachable shoulder strap) which provides a nice option.

So, obviously, I love not only the snap and push-lcok closuer but also the inside zip and cell phone pocket. I am also drawn to how soft the leather looks. Who doesn’t love soft leather? But, I am still stuck on the fringe.

If you’ve read any of my other posts concerning Gucci handbag, you know I am a self-proclaimed clutz. Nothing crazy, but I have been know to trip, drop my bag, and have the entire contents spilled out on the sidewalk.
